Music is central to worship at Northside. We affirm, as the Presbyterian Directory for Worship puts it well, that “song is a response which engages the whole self in prayer.”
Our choir is led by Jacqueline Pennington. Jacqueline, a gifted student and musician and recent graduate of Eastern Michigan University School of Engineering, brings a wealth of musical craft and energy to our worship. Each Sunday, we are greatly blessed to hear her set the table for our worship experience on our Young Chang grand piano.
All are welcome to join choir practice immediately preceding church each Sunday. Our choir members include folks of all ranges of abilities. We sing sacred music from a variety of styles, including classical, gospel, and traditional hymns. Some members sing solos; many also play instruments (e.g. flute, guitar, violin). We also have a lot of fun in the process!
